Dash Cams are an cheap and convenient way to help protect yourself against insurance claims that go against you, despite it not being your fault.  A dash cam can continuously record every journey you make and at the touch of a button lock and save that video to a small micro SD memory card to use as evidence.  Even minor incidents such as pedestrians walking out infront of you without looking, cars clipping your wing mirror while you are stationary.  All of these types of incidence can be hard to prove without video evidence and for the cost of a dash cam, you'd be foolish not to have one.
