DJI Phantom 4 UK
So, it’s almost here, the new DJI Phantom 4 in the UK. This is the latest version of the Phantom range and has some pretty unique new features. We’ll talk about some of them below and explain what these new features are, what they do and how you can use them.
What’s new in the DJI Phantom 4?
Obstacle avoidance – this feature will utilise cameras at the front and beneath the Phantom 4 to actively stop you flying into obstacles. It may not prevent you flying into everything but it should certainly help avoiding the bigger obstacles like large trees, mountains, buildings, people, etc.
Extended flight time– you should now be able to fly for around 28 minutes which is about 4-5 minutes from than the advertised flying times of the previous Phantom 3 range.
Dual IMU / Compass – DJI have added two of each, so now both IMU’s and Compass will check their values with each other, potentially avoiding incorrect data sending your Phantom 4 on a fly-away.
TapFly – with TapFly you can simply tap on the screen your smartphone or tablet to send the Phantom 4 on it’s journey.
Active Track – this feature allows you to highlight a subject on your smartphone or tablet screen and then tell the Phantom 4 to actively follow them without the need for you to manual input any stick control on your remote controller. Perfect for those extreme video shoots of skiers, mountain bikers, snowboarders, etc.
Quick Release Propellers – these new propellers will make attaching and removing your propellers quicker and easier.
