DJI Osmo+ / DJI OSMO Plus
So, DJI have just announced their OSMO+ or OSMO Plus whichever way around you want to describe it. The OSMO+ now has the zoom version of the Zenmuse X3 camera which is (as we write) available on the standard OSMO but no doubt will become discontinued in favour of the OSMO+.

It follows the relase of the Z3 camera which has also just been announced by DJI which is available for the Inspire 1. Sadly, the Z3 camera for the Inspire 1 won’t be compatible with the original OSMO, so if you want a zoom camera for your OMSO, you’re going to need to buy the OSMO+ or the OSMO+ version of the camera if and when it becomes available as a spare part.
We were hoping that a simple firmware upgrade might make the Z3 compatible for existing OSMO owners but after a brief chat with DJI, this is unlikely to be the case.
So, what’s new with the OSMO+ I hear you say?
Well, the biggest improvement is the 3.5x optical zoom and a 2x digital lossless zoom giving it a focal length ranging from 22mm to 77mm without sacrificing HD quality.
Osmo+ also helps you record stunning moving timelapses by simply marking where you want the camera to go during the tiimelapse and pressing Start.
