How to improve low light performance on your GoPro Hero Camera

GoPro Low LightA simple but effective method of improving your video quality in low light conditions is to simply lower the frame rate, for eg, going down from 1080/60fps to 1080/24fps, 1080/30fps or 1080/48fps frames per second.

Lowering the frame rate allows you to change the frames from 1/60th of a second to something like 1/30th of a second.  The slower speed allows more light into the camera and therefor brightens the image.

The Hero 3+ Black Edition can do this automatically if set to Auto Low Light Mode.

GoPro Bike Mounts

So you’re looking for some GoPro Bike Mounts but not sure where to start?

Well, we’ve got a few different options available, some from GoPro themselves and some aftermarket options from the likes of K-Edge, etc.

Let’s start with GoPro Bike Mounts from GoPro:-

GoPro Bike Mount

You’re limited to the GoPro Handlebar/Seatpost Mount which was recently revised to include a rubber anti-vibration insert that reduces vibration over rough ground and seems to work very well.

Next, we have GoPro Bike Mounts from K-Edge and they offer a much bigger range and are made from CNC Machined Aluminium:-

K-Edge GoPro Bike Mount

The K-Edge range of GoPro Bike Mounts are made from CNC Machined Aluminium and Anodised on various colours, including, Red, Black and Grey.  The GoPro Bike Mount above is their basic Go Big Handlebar Mount.

Next, we have the K-Edge Go Big Pro Handlebar Mount which is again made from CNC Machined Aluminium and Anodised in either Red, Black or Grey.

Although more expensive, the K-Edge range of GoPro Bike Mounts are superior quality and will even survive the odd ‘off’ while keeping your camera safe.

NEW Official GoPro Hero 3+ 1180mAH higher capacity battery

GoPro Hero 3+ Plus 1180mAH Battery

Finally! It’s here.  The NEW Official GoPro Hero 3+ Higher Capacity 1180mAH Battery has been announced and due for release in the UK around the 18th December 2013.

It took a while for the new higher capacity 1180mAH battery to come through but at last, you can get your hands on it.  It will even work in the previous Hero 3 giving your camera a little bit longer running time.

However, don’t think using the new 1180mAH in your Hero 3 will give you the same run time as the Hero 3+ as the higher capacity battery was just a small part of making the Hero 3+ better on battery life.  Things like the microprocessor chip used are a big factor in how long the camera will run for as this now uses less power than the previous version in Hero 3 Cameras.

GoPro Tethers

GoPro Tethers – what are they and how do they work?

GoPro Tethers

GoPro Tethers

If you’ve spent almost £400 on your GoPro Hero Camera you won’t want to lose it if your mount fails or you drop it while using it in water, etc.

For less than 1% of the cost of your camera, you can save yourself the heartache of having to replace such an expensive bit of kit and the valuable memories you’re capturing which can’t be replaced!

Our GoPro Tethers are made from 7 strand, 550lb Type III Paracord with aluminium loops which are heatshrunk to prevent scratching and secured to your GoPro Thumbscrew. We have a range of colours and sizes available, ranging from 30cm upto 100cm but we can also make them to order.

The Tether can be wrapped around handlebars, frames, handlgrips, boat rails, oars, fishing roads.  Pretty much anything!

We always recommend using GoPro Tethers when there is a chance that if your GoPro Camera falls from it’s mount that you may never see it again.

GoPro Jaw Clamp

The NEW GoPro Jaw Clamp looks like it’s going to prove a popular new addition to the GoPro mounts and accessories line up when it finally arrives in December 2013.

With this new mount you will be able to attach your GoPro Hero camera to the GoPro Jaw Clamp and mount it almost anywhere; tree branches, fences, posts, tubes, etc.

You will also have a flexible extension arm so lining up the GoPro Jaw Clamp should be pretty straight forward, allowing you to get the exaxt framing you’re looking for.

Retail price on the GoPro Jaw Clamp is set in the UK to be £49.99 which is up there with a few other so-called Premium products.

The latest due date we have from GoPro for UK stock is 17th December 2013, so JUST in time for Xmas.  We expect this new mount to be a popular choice for the GoPro enthusiasts.
